Interactive Constitution

Situated within the Civil War and Reconstruction: The Battle for Freedom and Equality exhibit, the interactives begin with the final text of each amendment. This text is physically printed on a drafting table surface so users can feel the individual words that make up each amendment, underscoring their relative permanence. The biggest challenge in design for this piece was the visual connection between the screen and the touch surface of the table. During the experience some elements cross both surfaces.
